Nollywood actor Jigan Baba Oja has opened up about the incredible support he received from fellow entertainer Soji Omo Banke during a challenging period in his life abroad.
Reflecting on his stay in the United States, Jigan recounted how Soji went above and beyond to make him feel at home. “If not for Soji Omo Banke, I would have suffered greatly when I went to America,” he shared. “I have not seen anybody in the movie industry that can do what Soji did for me.”
According to the actor, Soji welcomed him into his home, providing food and shelter without asking for anything in return. “He accommodated me in his house and fed me. So many times, he would leave his bedroom for me and sleep in the living room,” Jigan recalled. “I used to microwave food 10 times a day because I love food. Soji never complained nor gave me attitude. He was paying all the bills in the house without asking me for money.”
Jigan also revealed how Soji went out of his way to boost his career. “Whenever they call him to be the MC for an event, he would tell them to let me do it. He would then drive me to the venue and give me my money without taking a dime,” he said with deep gratitude. “It is only God that will bless and repay him. I will never forget his kindness to me till I die.”
In closing, Jigan emphasized the importance of truly knowing people beyond surface appearances. “It is when you move close to people that you will know who they really are. He is very calm and gentle,” he added.
