Former Nigerian dancehall star Cynthia Morgan has reignited controversy on social media, taking direct shots at her fellow artist and ex-labelmate, May D, while also dragging her former label boss, Jude Okoye, into the fray once again.

In a series of posts shared via her Instagram story, the singer criticized May D for his comments regarding her long-standing dispute with Jude Okoye. Cynthia, clearly displeased, labeled May D’s remarks as lacking empathy and cautioned him against comparing his personal experiences to hers.

“Very insensitive talk @mrmayd,” she wrote. “I no send you @mrmayd sha no ever call my phone tell me say wetin you go through pass my own. Cause e no get the time wey I take carry you sit down tell you wetin I go through.”

Her posts suggested that May D had attempted to downplay or overshadow her struggles with his own, a move she clearly didn’t appreciate. Cynthia reminded him that she had never confided in him about the full extent of her experiences, implying that he was in no position to draw comparisons.

The singer didn’t stop there. Turning her attention to Jude Okoye, the Northside Music executive with whom she has had an ongoing feud, Cynthia recounted past financial dealings and missed opportunities that she attributes to his management decisions.

“Just double checked that the first money he shared in 2016 was 20 million naira, and then, I went ahead to make an extra 10 million naira that same year, and these returns would have been way more if he wasn’t turning down shows and endorsements,” she stated.

Cynthia Morgan also accused Jude of rejecting several lucrative offers on her behalf, including endorsement deals and international gigs. Among the deals she claims were turned down were a Kasapreko endorsement, a deal with telecom giant Glo, a $30,000 performance in Uganda, and a N3 million show at Ogbe Stadium allegedly declined by someone named Joy.

“@judeengees, I remember the Kasaprenko and Glo endorsement you turned down, the thirty thousand dollar Ugandan show you turned down, and the Ogbe stadium three million naira show Joy turned down.”

In a final declaration, she hinted that her silence over the years was rooted in denial about being taken advantage of by people she once trusted. Now, however, she says that silence is over.

“I kept quiet because I didn’t just want to agree I was played by people I thought were humans. Not anymore.”

Cynthia Morgan’s revelations have reignited interest in the long-running dispute between her and her former label, as fans and observers await any potential response from those she has called out.
