Australian actor Julian McMahon has passed away at the age of 56 after a private battle with cancer. He died on July 2, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida. His death was confirmed by his wife, Kelly McMahon, in a heartfelt statement released on Friday.
“With an open heart, I share with the world that Julian McMahon, my beloved husband, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,” she wrote.
“His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We wish all of those to whom Julian brought joy to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”
Julian McMahon was widely celebrated for his versatile roles in film and television. He gained international fame playing Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four, Cole Turner in the hit supernatural series Charmed, and the slick plastic surgeon Dr. Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck, a role that earned him global recognition and critical acclaim.
Beyond his acting career, McMahon carried a legacy of political prominence, being the son of William McMahon, who served as Australia’s Prime Minister from 1971 to 1972.
