Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has publicly announced his renewed dedication to both Christian and traditional forms of worship, marking the return of his ministry.
Taking to his Instagram page, the actor—known for his vocal support of traditional spirituality in recent months—revealed that his calling has been reaffirmed. According to Edochie, God instructed him to guide his people back to their roots, embracing the traditional ways of worship. He described himself as both a prophet and a traditionalist.
Edochie stated, “God told me to lead my people back to their traditional ways.” His declaration has stirred widespread reactions online, especially considering his evolving spiritual journey.
Social media users had varied responses to his announcement. One user, MercySamson9, commented, “This is the result of when Queen May benches you.” Another, chy.ndu, expressed concern, saying, “The kind of juju they used to tie Yul Edochie, if care isn’t taken, he might end up running mad.”
Further reactions included missfavour_1 remarking, “God is so merciful,” while juwon_debbie stated, “Immediately, May left Yul, she took along his glory.” Other users chimed in humorously, with chinatuloisy writing, “Diaper don cost,” and Ugwuegbulamgo adding, “The cost of diapers and baby milk na your mate.”
Back in March, the son of veteran actor Pete Edochie had clarified his spiritual direction, proclaiming himself both a prophet and a native doctor. He claimed that divine instructions led him back to his roots, where he found spiritual wholeness.
“I became complete when I returned home,” he previously shared, underscoring that the traditional practices of his ancestors are divinely approved and serve as a path to salvation. In his view, he is fulfilling a divine mandate to restore indigenous spirituality among his people.
