“Too Generous to Be True?” – Man Calls for EFCC Probe into Davido’s Wealth

A concerned Nigerian man has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate award-winning artist Davido over what he described as suspicious financial behavior.

His concerns were sparked by Davido's recent act of generosity, where the singer gifted ₦5 million to Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali to support the burial of his parents. While many praised the gesture, the man believes such frequent giveaways warrant scrutiny.

According to him, Davido’s tendency to “give out money anyhow” raises legitimate questions about the source of his wealth. He suggested that the EFCC should step in to verify whether the singer’s income is earned through legal means.

He stated, “Nobody just gives out money anyhow like that unless there’s something fishy going on. The EFCC needs to look into it and confirm he’s making his money legitimately.”

The appeal has since stirred mixed reactions on social media, with some supporting the call for accountability, while others argue that Davido’s success in music and business ventures is well documented.
