Nigerian singer Simi has encouraged her followers to avoid living solely for the love and validation of others.
She emphasized the importance of staying grounded by holding on to core values such as truth, kindness, honesty, and faith.
Highlighting the fleeting nature of public admiration, Simi warned against depending entirely on external approval, as people’s love can be temporary and unreliable.
Instead, she advised individuals to remain true to their principles and practice humility, even when receiving widespread praise or recognition.
On her X (formerly Twitter) page, Simi wrote:
“Don’t live for the love of people. It’s fickle as fuck. Live for truth. Be kind. Be honest. Live for God. And when people do show you love en-masse, don’t bask in it too long. You MAY acknowledge it – but keep it moving. Because people forget. And if you forget that, you will suffer.”
