Cubana Chief Priest, the popular Nigerian nightlife entrepreneur and celebrity barman, has reportedly filed a defamation lawsuit in Kenya against Helen Ati, the woman who claims to have a child with him.
According to reports, the suit was recently filed in a Kenyan court, marking a bold legal move by the businessman who has consistently denied fathering Helen’s child.
The case stems from Helen’s continuous public claims that Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, is the father of her child an allegation he has described as false, damaging, and malicious.
Helen, who is reportedly based in Kenya, had taken to social media earlier this year to accuse the socialite of abandoning their alleged child and refusing to accept responsibility.
The claims went viral and sparked widespread controversy, prompting Cubana Chief Priest to respond publicly on several occasions, maintaining his innocence and calling the allegations an attempt to smear his name and extort him.
In the lawsuit filed in Kenya, Cubana Chief Priest is said to be seeking damages for defamation and reputational harm. The suit also reportedly asks the court to order Helen to retract her statements publicly and cease making further claims about his alleged paternity.
A source familiar with the case disclosed, “He’s not just trying to clear his name. This has affected his brand, his business partnerships, and his peace of mind. Taking legal action is the next logical step.”
This development comes months after the socialite was invited by the Nigerian police for questioning over the matter, though details of that inquiry remain undisclosed.
As at press time, Helen Ati is yet to issue an official response to the reported legal action.
Cubana Chief Priest’s lawsuit could mark a turning point in the months-long public feud, as the matter shifts from social media to the courtroom.
