Veteran Nigerian singer, Daddy Showkey, has revealed a deeply emotional chapter of his life, praising Fuji music icon Alabi Pasuma for feeding and supporting his family during his most difficult moment.
During a recent stage performance, where Pasuma made a surprise appearance, Daddy Showkey emotionally recounted how Pasuma stood by him after a near-fatal accident in 2007. According to the Galala legend, the accident kept him in the hospital for three years, during which time Pasuma took full responsibility for the welfare of his family.
“You see, this man, he stood by me during bad times and good times,” Daddy Showkey said, pointing to Pasuma. “Many people didn’t see me in public or sing for years because I had an accident in 2007. I was in the hospital for three years. Pasuma was the one taking care of my family. I can never forget him in my life.”
In the viral video of the heartfelt moment, Showkey described Pasuma as the only true friend who remained loyal and helpful during his long absence from the entertainment scene. He contrasted this with others in the industry who ignored him when he needed help the most.
“After I recovered, I visited others but they didn’t give me the opportunity to see them, not to talk of helping. When I got to their houses they would tell me they were not around, even when they were inside the house,” he recounted.
The powerful tribute has since sparked admiration for Pasuma’s loyalty and compassion, with fans praising the bond between the two veterans and the importance of standing by friends in difficult times.
