Peter Okoye, widely known as Mr P, has publicly responded to recent claims made by his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, alleging that he fell into financial hardship after leaving their Psquare music group.

The controversy flared up once again after Jude posted a cryptic message on Instagram, accusing unnamed individuals of greed, betrayal, and attempting to frame him with false fraud allegations. Though Jude didn’t mention names, his words were widely interpreted as a veiled jab at Peter and Paul Okoye, former members of the now-defunct Psquare duo.

Jude claimed that those who left his management in the name of “freedom” later suffered setbacks and financial woes, refusing to take responsibility for their actions. He further accused them of spreading fabricated stories about money laundering in a bid to have him imprisoned.

“They bragged about their newfound freedom and making it alone. Years later, they fell off the wagon and became broke,” he said. “They concocted and attached fraud to my name just to get me jailed.”

Reacting via a detailed Facebook post on Monday, Mr P debunked Jude’s assertions and claimed he now earns more as a solo artist than he did during the Psquare era when income was split between himself, Paul, and Jude.

“Calling me broke or wishing I was broke has been your wish. These are the same words you told EFCC officials, and you ended up getting locked up in prison,” Peter wrote.

He clarified that Jude was hired as a manager and was eventually relieved of his duties like others before him. According to Mr P, going solo turned out to be a blessing both financially and emotionally.

“I make more as a solo artiste than I ever did as part of Psquare. I’m talking about shows and endorsements,” he said. “Why keep sharing with those who stole from me, betrayed me, and disregarded my efforts?”

He also addressed the ongoing legal dispute, questioning why no one has answered the core allegations. “We’re still in court. Una thief abi una no thief?” he wrote.

Closing his post, Peter said he’s done playing the mature one and now chooses to respond to people based on how they treat him. “Respect me, I respect you. Cross me, I cut you off. Life isn’t about begging for fair treatment—it’s about matching energy.”

The public fallout adds another chapter to the long-running drama between the Okoye brothers, despite the Psquare reunion that briefly excited fans in late 2021.
