June 28th marked exactly one year since the late Nollywood icon, John Okafor—widely known as Mr Ibu—was laid to rest, and his family took to social media to honour his memory.
His wife, Stella Marris, shared a tribute on Instagram, posting photos of herself and their children dressed in coordinated outfits bearing Mr Ibu’s name. The emotional post reflected the family’s continued grief over the loss of the comic actor.
“One year you were laid to rest. We miss you so much. Continue to rest in peace, Amen,” she wrote.
Her post attracted messages of love and solidarity from fans and industry colleagues who continue to remember the actor for his humour and lasting impact on Nigerian cinema.
