Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has addressed the growing controversy surrounding her fallout with fellow actress Mercy Johnson, denying reports that she was arrested.
Tension between the two actresses has escalated in recent weeks, with Angela accusing Mercy of being a witch—a claim that sparked wide reactions. The situation intensified after reports surfaced that Mercy, allegedly backed by Regina Daniels’ husband, Ned Nwoko, filed a petition against Angela over her persistent online remarks.
Some sources claimed the petition was triggered by Angela’s repeated public accusations, including a June post that hinted at “spiritual wrongdoing.” Movie producer Stanley Ontop also alleged that Johnson had teamed up with influential figures to take legal action.
Responding to the speculations during an Instagram Live session, Angela Okorie clarified that she was never arrested.
“I wasn’t arrested,” she said. “I was invited for questioning and I honoured the invitation.”
