Actors Guilds of Nigeria and South Africa Announce Landmark Industry Roundtable

Johannesburg, South Africa — June 12, 2025 — The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in partnership with the South African Guild of Actors (SAGA) is proud to announce the Nollywood/South Africa Actors Roundtable 2025, a landmark event set to bring together some of the most influential voices in African film. 

The gathering will take place from July 9th to 13th, 2025, at the Mercure Hotel Bedfordview, Johannesburg.

Centered on the theme “Collective Bargaining & Royalties in the Continent of Africa,” the five-day summit is designed to spark unified action around fair compensation, actors’ rights, and royalty enforcement across African film industries. This effort marks a bold step toward creating shared frameworks for professional standards, contracts, and creative protection.

The roundtable will host a distinguished lineup of speakers, including:

• Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas (MON) – National President, Actors Guild of Nigeria

• Mr. Jack Devnarain – National Chairperson, South African Guild of Actors

• Juliet Ibrahim – Actor/Director, AGN Ghana Liaison

• Dorothy Kingston – President, Malawi Film Association

• Peter Kawa – National Chairman, Kenya Actors Guild

• Chief Takum Fred Che – President, National Actors Guild of Cameroon

• Ugochi Treasure Okonkwo – Rising Nigerian talent making waves on the continental stage

Guiding the conversations as moderators will be two dynamic personalities from the industry: Hungani Ndlovu and Beverly Osu.
