It’s a joyful moment for Nollywood’s Yoruba stars Okiki and Bimbo Afolayan as they welcome their beloved daughter, Aliyah, back home for the summer.
Bimbo Afolayan took to Instagram to share the happy news with fans, revealing that her “first fruit” is back after several months away. She also explained her brief absence from social media, noting that she was busy soaking in the long-missed hugs from her daughter.
She wrote:
“Look who is home for summer break
Our dear pilot Aliyah
For everyone asking where I was yesterday.
I have been getting all the hugs I missed over 4 months.”
In a lighthearted moment, Bimbo added that once Aliyah arrived, she completely forgot about the airing of Mayami on her streaming platform, @bimboafolayantv.
Her husband, filmmaker Okiki Afolayan, also shared his excitement about Aliyah’s return. He warmly referred to her as their “sweet angel” and “heartbeat,” expressing how much her presence has already uplifted the household.
“Guess who’s home?
Our sweet angel, our heartbeat Aliyah is back!
After months of studying and chasing her dreams abroad, she’s home, and let me tell you, the house is already full of laughter, excitement, and plenty of activity.”
He continued, emphasizing the joy she brings:
“It’s amazing how just her presence lights everything up. We missed her energy, her smile, and the warmth she brings to every corner of our lives. Now she’s back, and we plan to enjoy every moment together.”
Concluding his heartfelt message, Okiki wrote:
“Welcome home, baby girl. You’re deeply loved, always celebrated, and forever our pride.
We have our own MAYAMI in the house.”
