Online activist and content creator Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The news of his release was shared by political activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore in a social media post on Tuesday.
“Thanks to unrelenting efforts of all @thatverydarkman has been released from unjust detention at the @officialEFCC! He is with his ebullient lawyer, @adeyanjudeji. #RevolutionNow,” Sowore wrote.
The EFCC had earlier confirmed that Otse was granted bail, but clarified that he remained in detention until the bail conditions were fully met.
Otse was taken into custody following what the commission described as his repeated failure to respond to several summons concerning “multiple grave allegations” linked to financial crimes.
