*WHERE IS DADDY"
That’s the heartbreaking question my youngest son keeps asking. Each time he says it, my heart sinks and my mouth feels too heavy to respond. I haven’t had the strength to tell him the truth—that his father is gone forever. He still believes his dad just went away on a trip and will return someday.
Since my husband passed, life has been incredibly hard. I’m shattered inside, yet I push myself to remain strong—for the sake of the children.
I think about him every day. If I could bring one person back to life, without hesitation, it would be him.
Tears spill from my eyes every time our youngest talks about his dad. Our older two sons understand the reality of the situation, but their little brother is still too young to grasp it.
Despite everything, I remain thankful. One of my husband’s closest friends has stepped in and been an incredible support. He’s done everything he can to make sure our boys never feel the void of not having their father around. May God bless him abundantly.
