Nigerian singer Orezi has shed light on the reasons behind his reduced visibility in the music scene, attributing it to a drop in ambition and stepping away from industry competition.
Speaking during a recent episode of Trending on Hip TV, the “Ogede” crooner explained that his career slowed down because he became too comfortable and lost the drive that once fueled his musical pursuits.
“I faded out [of the music industry] because I became less ambitious and comfortable with where I am. I was always on vacation, enjoying myself. I became less ambitious and took myself out of the competition [in the music industry],” he said.
Orezi emphasized the role of competition in maintaining consistency and used superstar Davido as an example of someone who continues to push boundaries despite already achieving success.
“Competition fuels consistency. Look at Davido for example, he hustles like an underground artist. He has money and fame but he still maintains his hustling spirit,” he added.
