MultiChoice Group, the company behind DStv and GOtv, has debunked rumours that aspiring Big Brother Naija contestants must pay a fee to participate in auditions.
In an official statement posted on their verified social media accounts on Tuesday, the entertainment provider urged fans and hopefuls to consult only their authorized channels, such as Africa Magic and Big Brother Naija’s official platforms, for trustworthy updates about the show.
The company clarified that all auditions are entirely free for Nigerians who meet the eligibility criteria, with no costs involved at any point.
“Any requests for money related to BBNaija auditions are false and should be ignored,” the notice stated.
MultiChoice further cautioned the public against scams—whether online or offline—that ask for payment to secure audition spots, making it clear these solicitations are illegitimate and unrelated to the official audition process.
“Participation in Big Brother Naija auditions involves no financial charge and remains accessible to all qualified individuals,” the statement added.
Concluding the message, MultiChoice thanked supporters for their enthusiasm and advised everyone to remain alert to misinformation as excitement grows ahead of the new season.
