Nigerian influencer and reality TV personality Laura Ikeji has subtly taken a dig at some of her peers while revealing the thought process behind her look for the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
In a post shared on her Instagram, Laura—who is also the sister of popular blogger Linda Ikeji—highlighted her desire for simplicity and authenticity this year. She explained that she and her team aimed for a look that was understated yet elegant.
“A moment in fashion, a lifetime of style. Red carpet ready,” she wrote. “Sometimes less is really more. This year, my team and I wanted minimal drama, clean, classy and realistic. Something I could walk the red carpet with and not look different from my pictures and this was it.”
Concluding her message to fans and followers, she asked, “How did we do, my lovelies?”
Laura’s comments appear to contrast with the more extravagant fashion statements often seen at the event, suggesting a preference for more grounded and relatable style choices.
