Nollywood actress Jumoke George is celebrating a heartfelt reunion after her daughter, Adeola, who had been missing for four years, finally returned home.
In an earlier interview with Biola Adebayo, Jumoke revealed that her 41-year-old daughter had disappeared and had not been in contact for years. Biola later shared on Instagram that Adeola had been located in Mali but had not yet reconnected with her mother and was not responding to calls.
Providing an update on the situation, the Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, confirmed on Monday that Adeola is now back in Nigeria. Dabiri disclosed via her Twitter page that the commission facilitated Adeola’s return after discovering she had been trafficked to Mali.
“Breaking! Adeola, daughter of popular actress Jumoke George, who cried out that she had not heard from her daughter in four years, is back home from Mali, where she was trafficked,” Dabiri wrote. “We just received her, with Biola Adebayo, who broke the story, and Niyi Johnson. Details later!”
Adeola also extended her gratitude to actors Biola Adebayo and Adeniyi Johnson for their support and efforts in bringing her back home.
Her return marks the end of a painful chapter for the actress and a powerful reminder of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking.
