Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo Salami has opened up about the emotional moment he experienced after winning the Best Lead Actor award at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) on Saturday, May 10th.
During his acceptance speech, Femi was overcome with emotion and broke down in tears, with fellow actor Odunlade Adekola offering comfort on stage.
In an Instagram post, Femi shared that the true reason behind his emotional reaction is known only to him and Allah. He also expressed deep gratitude to everyone who played a part in making the moment unforgettable.
“A truly deserved award, and I’m deeply grateful for this moment with every fibre of my being. The real reason for my breakdown is known only to me and Allah,” he wrote. “Big thank you to everyone who contributed to this unforgettable moment.”
