Nigerian singer, actor, and politician Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has achieved a significant milestone by earning a Master's degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy in Washington, D.C.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on May 20, 2025, Banky W reflected on his journey, describing the past few years as a "stretching season" for him and his family.
He credited his achievement to faith, family, and resilience, stating, "Faith gives you the courage, resilience and power to redefine endings. What many may see as the finish line of a journey can become the starting point of the next chapter of your story."
While pursuing his degree, Banky W and his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington, welcomed their second child, Hezekiah Oluwadarasimi Wellington.
Balancing fatherhood, full-time studies, and serving as a Fellow on Capitol Hill, he described the experience as "completely exhausting," but emphasized that, "by the grace of God, the strength of faith and the support of family, friends and mentors, we did it!"
Banky W's academic pursuit follows his earlier studies in Industrial Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York. After an unsuccessful bid for a seat in Nigeria's House of Representatives in 2023, he chose to further his education to enhance his competence in public policy administration, aiming to better serve in future leadership roles.
His accomplishment has been met with widespread admiration, with fans and colleagues celebrating his dedication to personal growth and public service.
This achievement underscores Banky W's commitment to making a meaningful impact beyond the entertainment industry and positions him as a rising force in Nigeria’s political and civic space.
