The 2025 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) took center stage on Saturday night in Lagos, drawing the finest in African cinema and television to celebrate the continent’s biggest storytelling achievements.
From red carpet glam to emotional wins, the night was filled with memorable moments and historic victories.
Two standout titles of the night were Lisabi (The Uprising) by Lateef Adedimeji and Seven Doors, which clinched multiple major awards and received critical acclaim.
The event, which marked the 11th edition of the prestigious awards, showcased Africa’s growing impact in global entertainment and highlighted the brilliance of homegrown talent.

Among the standout nominees were Bimbo Ademoye, recognized for her performance in Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre, and Ini Dima-Okojie, who was nominated for her role in Skeleton Coast.
Lateef Adedimeji, who also starred in Lisabi, was another key nominee for Best Lead Actor, further solidifying his position as a leading talent in African cinema.
The 2025 AMVCA went beyond honoring just actors and directors. It also paid tribute to digital and unscripted content creators, with figures like Iyo Prosper and Kassim Suleiman earning recognition for their pioneering work in digital media and reality TV.
