Street-hop sensation Portable has ruled out the possibility of a rematch with Speed Darlington, stating that Afrobeats star Burna Boy has already credited him with a generous ₦20 million.
In a viral post shared on Sunday via X (formerly Twitter), Portable told organisers to look for a new challenger, saying he was no longer interested in fighting Speed Darlington after beating him in their recent celebrity boxing bout.
According to him, although Speed Darlington had approached him with a rematch proposal and money, Burna Boy’s unexpected financial support had changed everything.
“Joy don come, Burna Boy na odogwu. The money long, Burna Boy money long, them dey tell me before, now I know. Burna Boy don send ₦20 million. I no rematch o,” he declared.
He went on to say, “The ₦20 million you wanted to use for the rematch, Burna Boy has sent it.”
The singer didn’t stop there. “Send that ₦20 million again if you want. I need the money. I can’t rematch, but bring another person, not that fool. He’s a fool at 40,” he added.
Portable also clarified that the ₦20 million gift wasn’t a prank or hoax, stressing that it was indeed real and not an “April Fool’s” joke.
