Popular Yoruba actress Lizzy Anjorin has responded to allegations that she is jealous of the wedding of Priscilla Ojo, daughter of her long-time rival, Iyabo Ojo, and her husband, Juma Jux.
Lizzy recently stirred online drama after sharing a video aimed at an unnamed individual, accusing them of bitterness towards her 2020 wedding.
In the viral clip, she claimed the person had gone to great lengths to sabotage her and her husband, including leaking her husband’s nude photos and spreading false death rumours.
Many netizens quickly speculated that the jabs were directed at Iyabo Ojo, a long-standing adversary of Lizzy Anjorin. However, Lizzy clarified her position in a new video, addressing critics who suggested she might be envious of Priscilla Ojo’s wedding.
In the video, Lizzy praised Priscilla’s wedding, describing it as beautiful, and complimented the bride’s focus and respectful nature. She further stated, “Let’s forget about the mother. Let’s face the daughter, who will ever hate such a wedding? Who dares to hate such a wedding? Do we want to talk about how focused that lady is? How determined she is?”
Lizzy then expressed that, as a mother, the greatest joy is having a daughter who supports and works alongside you, regardless of the circumstances. She also responded to critics by stating that while they might try to bring her down, God is using them to elevate her instead.
“The happiness of every mother is to have a daughter who will work along with you, regardless of who you are. Whether you are a thief, a blackmailer, a destroyer, or rich as a mother, every mother prays for a child who always thinks along with the mother,” she said.
Lizzy continued, “I have said that because you are destroying me does not mean I am going to destroy you in return. You guys are trying to destroy me, but instead God is using you to promote me.”
She also emphasized her admiration for Priscilla’s wedding, noting, “Who will hate such a wedding? A wedding that they did not tell us any negative about the wife or the husband or about the mother-in-law or the father-in-law? So, tell me what you want to hate about that wedding? If we are talking about the wife, she has been on her own, been a very beautiful girl. She has maintained her lane.”
