Popular Nigerian media entrepreneur and filmmaker Linda Ikeji is set to make a return to the big screen with her second feature film titled Reverse.
The movie is scheduled to premiere in cinemas across Nigeria on May 16, 2025.
After the critical success of her debut film Dark October, which streamed exclusively on Netflix in 2023, Ikeji is venturing into new creative territory.
While her first film explored real-life events, Reverse takes a more fictional path but retains her signature focus on emotionally driven, socially relevant storytelling.
Reverse tells the story of a young girl whose attempt to stop an act of abuse in a grocery store triggers a series of events that spiral beyond her imagination.
What begins as a brave act soon becomes the turning point of her life, forcing her to confront realities that test her strength, values, and resilience.
The film is written and produced by Linda Ikeji, with Dami Dawson serving as co-producer.
Distribution is being handled by Nile Entertainment, a company known for delivering high-quality Nollywood films to local and international audiences.
The cast of Reverse includes a strong lineup of respected actors and rising stars.
Hilda Dokubo, Antar Laniyan, Susan Pwajok, Kalu Ikeagwu, and Yvonne Jegede are among the notable names bringing the story to life.
Their performances are expected to give weight and authenticity to the film’s emotional core.
Linda Ikeji’s transition from digital media to filmmaking has been met with praise, especially for her courage to spotlight difficult and often underrepresented social issues.
Dark October highlighted the dangers of mob justice, while Reverse looks poised to examine the moral complexities of intervention and its consequences.
With Reverse, Ikeji continues to build a compelling voice in Nigerian cinema. The film promises to offer both entertainment and reflection, engaging audiences with its powerful message and gripping narrative.
