Nollywood star Jim Iyke has reacted after YouTube took down the original version of his film, Light in the Dark, from his channel, JIMIYKE TV.

The actor, in an Instagram post on Monday, explained that the platform removed the movie due to concerns about a particular scene. Despite the setback, he maintained a positive outlook and assured his fans that he remains unfazed.

“The original version of our movie Light in the Dark on JIMIYKE TV was taken down. They deemed one of the scenes inappropriate from feedback received. It has been challenging, to say the least. Over 600k views accumulated in a few days. The time, effort, and passion my team put into these projects is inestimable. But I’m not deterred,” he wrote.

Jim Iyke urged his followers to rally behind the film’s new version, encouraging them to watch, share, and keep the project alive.

“A new version is up now, and I need as many people as possible to watch, share, and spread the word. If you supported the first one, or if you missed it—this is your chance to help keep the project alive,” he added.

The actor, known for his resilience, expressed confidence that the challenge would not hinder his efforts, emphasising that he thrives on positivity and determination.

“We’ve been down this road before. Your support and goodwill will win the day eventually. I cannot thank you enough for everything,” he said.

Jim Iyke concluded by highlighting the importance of every view, share, and comment in ensuring the film’s success.

As one of Nollywood’s most prominent actors, Jim Iyke has starred in numerous hit movies. His latest project, Light in the Dark, explores crucial social issues, making its removal from YouTube a significant blow to his team’s work.
