Popular content creator and actress Nons Miraj recently opened up about her journey to financial independence, revealing how she made her first million without depending on any man. During a podcast interview, she reflected on her early career in Nollywood, where financial returns were disheartening. According to Nons, acting gigs barely paid enough, sharing, "It was rubbish money; unlike a salary job where you make 70K monthly, they pay you 90K after shooting for three months. It was not worth it."
Determined to improve her financial situation, Nons ventured into buying and reselling perfumes and jewelry. She would visit Balogun Market, buy perfumes and jewelry for about N3K, and sell them for N50K. She cleverly divided the profit into two parts: one for savings and the other for her daily expenses.
While she did receive attention from men during this period, Nons made it clear that none of them were financial sponsors. She was in a relationship at the time, but emphasized, “I was not in the sugar daddy vibe.”
Her major breakthrough came when she fully embraced content creation. As her social media presence grew, so did her earnings from acting. She revealed, “I was saving with my mum, I had my own savings, my salon was there, and acting started paying N300K after social media presence.”
The turning point came when her brand evolved into the popular persona of "Ada Jesus," leading to endorsement deals and her first $20,000, especially after launching her YouTube series, Love Show.
Nons Miraj proudly concluded that she didn’t wait for a man to provide for her and grew in confidence as she achieved financial success. Her story serves as an inspiring example of resilience and self-reliance in the entertainment industry.
