In the ever-evolving world of Nollywood, fame, fortune, and film scripts usually define a star’s journey. But for a select few, their path took an extraordinary turn — from dazzling on-screen roles to preaching behind the pulpit. These beloved Nollywood stars have left behind the glitter of the movie industry to embrace a higher calling, using their platforms not just for entertainment but for evangelism. Their stories are not just inspiring; they reflect a deeper desire for purpose and a powerful spiritual awakening.

Charles Okafor:

One of the earliest Nollywood veterans to transition into ministry. After years in the limelight, he stepped back and embraced his spiritual calling. Today, Charles focuses on advocacy and human-interest films that reflect his Christian beliefs. Though still an actor and filmmaker, he now chooses scripts that align with his faith and values.

Zack Orji:

Another household name, revealed that his journey into preaching began in 2012. When his bishop offered him the opportunity to be ordained, he accepted it wholeheartedly. He currently serves at Power Line Bible Church and continues to minister both in Nigeria and internationally. While he hasn’t completely quit acting, he now carefully selects his roles.

Patience Ozokwor:

Popularly known as Mama G, also embraced evangelism. According to her, she obeyed God's call immediately, despite facing resistance from her daughter. She has since been seen ministering at various church events, including Anglican gatherings, where she shares her testimony and spreads the gospel.

Liz Benson:

A prominent figure in the ‘90s, made headlines when she left acting to become an evangelist. Alongside her husband, Bishop Great Emeya, she now runs the Freedom Family Assembly in Warri, Delta State. The couple has three children and continues to impact lives spiritually.

Pat Attah:

Known for his charm and good looks, became born-again in 2015. He moved to Germany with his family, where he now dedicates his life to preaching. Through platforms like Facebook, Pat shares the gospel and inspires others with his messages of faith and transformation.

Eucharia Anunobi:

Famous for her role in Glamour Girls, was ordained as an evangelist at Fresh Oil Ministry in Lagos. She has since become active in church leadership and youth counseling. Her move into ministry was unexpected by many, but she remains committed to using her platform for God.

Majid Michel

Though Ghanaian, he was deeply embedded in Nollywood before giving his life to Christ. He now avoids romantic roles and is focused on spreading God’s word. In 2016, he was seen ministering in churches, performing deliverance, and preaching with passion born from his Bible study.

Kanayo O Kanayo:

Known for his intense roles, he has also taken steps toward preaching. He was recently spotted ministering at a crusade organized by Christ Mission Worldwide, boldly declaring victory over the powers of darkness.

These transformations show that even in the limelight, a deeper spiritual calling can redefine one’s purpose. From acting scripts to Scripture, these stars have chosen a path of service and spiritual fulfillments
