In a viral video, Lande opened up about working with Funke on a production at Amen Estate, where he claimed to have spent an entire month on set. According to him, after weeks of filming, he received just N90,000 as payment.
Sharing the experience as a lesson for others, he advised aspiring actors to stop idolising top names in the industry, stressing the importance of negotiating fair rates before accepting any role.
“There was a time Funke Akindele invited me for a movie at Amen Estate. I spent one month there, only to be paid N90,000,” he said.
“I’m using this to advise upcoming actors—don’t worship any big name in the industry. I’ve learnt my lesson. From now on, I’ll always state my fee before stepping on set. When she called me, I was too happy to mention money, and in the end, that joy turned into regret.”
His claims have triggered widespread debate online, with many weighing in on actor compensation and treatment within Nollywood.
