Tayo Faniran, the Nigerian actor and model, has recently shared his journey of cosmetic enhancements, including veneers, beard adjustments, and hairline procedures. In an open interview on Nollywood on Radio, Faniran revealed that he chose to undergo these procedures not just for aesthetic reasons, but also to take ownership of his appearance and to challenge the belief that his looks were solely due to divine favor.
Faniran, who gained fame after appearing on Big Brother Africa in 2014, expressed that he didn’t want people to think his striking smile was merely a result of good genetics. He proudly acknowledged the veneers he had done, describing them as a luxurious addition to his appearance, akin to gemstones. The veneers were specifically designed to enhance his smile, something he proudly shares with others when complimented.
Along with the dental work, Faniran had his beard line adjusted and underwent a procedure to enhance his hairline, admitting that although he wasn’t bald, he opted for the hairline procedure to further enhance his facial features. He emphasized that these enhancements are part of his personal growth and confidence-building, similar to how others might invest in shopping or luxury items like perfumes.
Faniran’s openness about his cosmetic changes aligns with the growing trend of celebrities embracing beauty enhancements while being transparent about it. He also stated that, for him, these enhancements are not just about vanity but a way to feel more comfortable in his skin as he continues to build his career in Nollywood, starring in films like Gangs of Lagos and Dieko.
