Controversial social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) has fired back after an Abuja Magistrate Court issued a bench warrant for his arrest over alleged criminal defamation of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
The court order was issued by Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna on March 13, 2025, after VDM failed to appear in court following a March 5 summons. However, instead of backing down, the outspoken critic has mocked the warrant, boldly daring authorities to arrest him at the airport when he returns to Nigeria.
Taking to Instagram, VDM, who is currently abroad, wrote in Pidgin English: “I dey come Naija very soon, make una ready to arrest me for airport. Arrest no be new thing for the Ratel na.”
Known for his bold, no-filter takes on social issues, VDM’s reaction has sparked heated online debates—while some praise his fearlessness, others believe he may have gone too far this time.
With his return to Nigeria imminent, the big question remains—will security agencies take him up on his challenge, or is this just another social media stunt?
