Popular TikToker Peller has landed in hot water after dismissing Afrobeats star Runtown as an “up-and-coming artist”, sparking outrage across social media.
During a recent livestream, a co-streamer suggested that Peller feature Runtown, but he flatly rejected the idea, insisting he only wanted "successful" artists.
"Wetin be Runtown? That one never blow. We no know am. Don't bring upcoming artists on my live video. Na artistes wey don blow well well I want," Peller ranted.
His condescending remark quickly backfired, with fans slamming him for disrespecting one of Afrobeats’ most influential artists. Many pointed out that Runtown, known for hits like ‘Gallardo’ (2014) and ‘Mad Over You’ (2016), has left an undeniable mark on the industry.
Peller, who has previously hosted Olamide, Tiwa Savage, and Davido on his livestream, is now facing calls for an apology, with fans questioning his music knowledge.
As the backlash intensifies, the question remains—will Peller double down or admit he made a huge mistake?
