The Nigerian presidency has acknowledged actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli for the success of her latest movie, Love In Every Word.
Fegho Umunubo, the Special Assistant to the President (Office of the Vice President) on Digital and Creative Economy, praised Oboli and the film’s lead actors, Uzor Arukwe and Bambam, in an Instagram post on Friday.
The film, which premiered on YouTube two weeks ago, has already amassed over 16 million views. It has also gained significant traction on social media, with users frequently referencing terms like “Odogwu paranran” and “Achalugo” in their discussions and memes.
The movie has enjoyed success despite a halt for a short period recorded when YouTube took it down because of a copyright claim. But after reinstatement, the momentum began to build up again, with Arukwe's performance particularly resonating with viewers.
Umunubo described the film as a “captivating work of art” and highlighted its achievement of surpassing 15 million views. He also predicted that the numbers would continue to rise, potentially exceeding 30 million.
He wrote, “Huge congratulations to the incredibly talented #omonioboli on creating a masterpiece that has captivated the hearts of Nigerians! Reaching 15 million views is no small feat, and at this rate, 30 million views and beyond seem inevitable.
