Popular TikToker Peller has finally bowed to pressure and issued a public apology after facing massive backlash for dismissing Afrobeats star Runtown as an “up-and-coming artist.”
During a recent livestream, Peller rejected a suggestion to feature Runtown, claiming the singer was unknown and had not "blown" enough. His ignorant remark immediately sparked outrage, with fans dragging him for downplaying Runtown’s legendary contributions to Afrobeats.
Now, in a livestream with Elizabeth Amoudu, Peller admitted his mistake, blaming his age and lack of exposure at the time Runtown dominated the charts.
"When I was hearing Runtown’s music that time, I was too young to even use a phone. Peller never come town when Runtown dey Runtown. Please, forgive the poor boy. Let him breathe. God won’t shame us. I’m sorry, my brothers and sisters."
His apology has sparked mixed reactions—while some have accepted his explanation, others insist that ignorance is no excuse for disrespecting an Afrobeats pioneer.
With the controversy dying down, fans now wonder—will Peller learn from this, or will he put his foot in his mouth again?
