Nigerian TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has stirred controversy after slamming Nigerians participating in the viral “30 Days Rant Challenge”, warning that it could lead to President Tinubu banning TikTok in Nigeria.
The challenge, which has seen frustrated Nigerians voicing their anger over economic hardship, has gained massive traction. However, Peller urged participants to take their protests elsewhere, saying:
“If you want to really rant, go to Instagram, go to the market, don’t rant here on TikTok. If they ban TikTok, that’s where we will have issues.”
He further dismissed online protests as “mumu mumu”, arguing that social media activism achieves nothing and advising people to take physical action instead.
His comments have sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing with his stance, while others accused him of being selfish and prioritizing his TikTok career over Nigerians’ struggles.
What do you think? Is Peller right, or is he just trying to protect his bag?
