Controversial streamer Peller has set social media ablaze after revealing that he’s been receiving death threats for urging Nigerians to stop the #30DayRants challenge on TikTok.
The challenge, which has gained massive traction, allows Nigerians to air their frustrations over poor governance. However, Peller warned that the continued criticism could lead to a government crackdown on TikTok in Nigeria—something that would directly affect his livelihood as a content creator.
During a recent livestream, Peller claimed that some individuals had threatened to attack him, referencing the shooting of his colleague, Oloba Salo, in Lagos last year.
“I have been receiving death threats. Some people threatened to shoot me like they shot Salo in Lekki Phase 1. They asked me to watch my back when going out,” he lamented.
Frustrated and seemingly overwhelmed, he ended his rant abruptly, saying, “What is all this? I’m not talking again. Goodbye.”
His revelation has sparked intense debates online, with some supporting his concerns while others accuse him of trying to protect his personal interests.
As tensions rise, the question remains—will the #30DayRants challenge face government restrictions, or will Nigerians continue to use the platform to voice their grievances?
