Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has condemned the practice of showcasing wealth at school reunions. In a series of tweets, Omokri criticized individuals who attend these events with the intention of flaunting their luxury items, such as Rolex watches and Bentley cars.

Omokri argued that such behavior can be detrimental to others, causing feelings of inadequacy, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. He emphasized that school reunions should serve as opportunities to reconnect with former classmates and reminisce about shared experiences, rather than platforms for displaying wealth.

Instead, Omokri encouraged individuals to adopt a more considerate approach when attending school reunions, focusing on fostering meaningful connections rather than competing in a display of wealth. He wrote, "We know you are successful. But don't go to your school's reunion party with your Rolex and Bentley. It is just cruel! How do you expect your classmates who have not made it to feel?".

Omokri's remarks highlight the importance of empathy and kindness, especially in social situations where people may already feel vulnerable or insecure. By choosing not to flaunt their wealth, individuals can help create a more inclusive and supportive environment at school reunions.
