DJ Cuppy Says Nigeria Could One Day Have Female President & VP

Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy, has expressed hope that Nigeria will eventually elect a female President and Vice President.

Reacting to Namibia’s historic milestone as the first African country to have both a female President (Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah) and Vice President (Lucia Witbooi), Cuppy took to X to share her thoughts.

“Namibia just made history. Africa’s FIRST country with BOTH a female President AND female Vice President. Maybe there’s hope for Nigeria one day after all…” she wrote.

Cuppy’s statement has sparked discussions on women in leadership, with many Nigerians debating whether the country is ready to embrace female political leadership at the highest level.
