BBNaija star, BamBam, has taken to social media to express her frustration with the Nigerian Police after a disturbing encounter. The reality TV star revealed that police officers stopped her car without cause, forced her and her assistant to step down, and then begged for money.
BamBam described the officer's behavior as "inappropriate and forceful," and questioned their actions. Despite greeting him and explaining that she was tired, he insisted she should "show me love now." Feeling pressured, BamBam gave them money.
The actress criticized the culture of police extortion, emphasizing that citizens should feel safe around officers, not uncomfortable. This isn't the first time BamBam has called out the Nigerian Police. In 2019, she accused officers of harassing and assaulting her brother.
BamBam's experience highlights the need for police reform in Nigeria. The constant harassment and extortion of citizens by police officers is unacceptable. It's time for the authorities to take action and ensure that police officers are held accountable for their actions.
As BamBam said, "We shouldn’t see the police and feel uncomfortable but safe." It's time for change.
