Portable Speaks From Hiding: Denies Assault, Claims Setup, and Fans Fear the Worst [Video]

The saga of Nigerian singer Portable, aka Habeeb Okikiola, just took a wild turn. Speaking from an undisclosed hideout, the controversial “Zazoo Zeh” star dropped an emotional bombshell on Instagram, denying assault allegations, claiming he’s being framed, and—most alarmingly—hinting at suicidal thoughts.

It all started when officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) stormed his Odogwu Bar and restaurant over permit issues. Portable alleges they arrested over 20 people, including his apprentices, and seized their belongings.

The state’s Commissioner for Physical Planning called his version of events a flat-out lie, but the damage was done. Nine of Portable’s associates, aged 19 to 28, were slapped with charges ranging from assault to public disturbance. They’ve been granted bail at a hefty ₦5 million each, with their case pushed to March 17.

Portable isn’t taking it lying down. In his raw, unfiltered plea, he dared authorities to show video proof of the alleged assault and swore he’s being targeted by shadowy enemies. But it’s his despair that’s got fans on edge. “I’m overwhelmed,” he said, voice cracking. “I’ve been through too much. I might just end it all.”

The internet’s in a frenzy. Some are rallying behind him, calling out the government for “bullying” the star. Others are begging him to hold on, flooding his comments with messages of support. With his associates still locked up and his bar in limbo, Portable’s life is looking more like a Nollywood drama by the day. The question is: how does this end?
