In a shocking turn of events, controversial hip-hop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has found himself in hot water yet again—this time, with the Ogun State Government.
The "Zazoo Zeh" crooner, now a fugitive, is wanted for allegedly orchestrating a violent attack on officials of the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo, Ota. The incident, described as "bizarre" and "primitive," has left the state reeling and locals living in fear.
The drama unfolded on Wednesday when Portable reportedly obstructed and assaulted town planners Ramon Lateef, Akinpelumi Oyero, and Abidemi Onabanjo while they were carrying out their official duties. But the rapper didn’t stop there—sources claim he unleashed a gang of loyalists to "deal with" the officials, escalating the confrontation into a full-blown melee. Now, the self-proclaimed "Wahala Musician" is nowhere to be found, leaving authorities scrambling to track him down.
While Portable remains at large, nine of his alleged accomplices—ranging in age from 19 to 28—were not so lucky. Oluwaseun Ayenuwa, Precious Ohiegebo, Oluwapelumi Adeosun, Gospel Kanu, Nurudeen Warris, Adetola Alashe, Fatimo Muhammed, Ifeoluwa Babatunde, and Samuel Adeleke were dragged before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
The charges? A laundry list of serious offenses, including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and—most chillingly—intent to kill. Each suspect now faces a staggering N5 million bail, a price tag that has left fans and critics alike buzzing.
Governor Dapo Abiodun has wasted no time addressing the scandal, issuing a scathing statement through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade. Labeling Portable a “serial dissident and unrepentant rascal,” the governor condemned the rapper’s actions as a “great disgrace to the state” and a blatant erosion of the cherished Omoluabi ethos. Akinmade didn’t mince words, warning that the Abiodun administration is on a mission to rid Ogun State of “illegal activities” and restore morality—no matter who’s involved.
“The way Portable and his miscreants attacked the OGPDPA officials is not only shocking but a confirmation of the chaos and fear this individual incites,” Akinmade stated. “Governor Abiodun will not tolerate this kind of shameful and intolerable behavior. No one is above the law, not even a so-called celebrity.”
Insiders reveal that Portable’s bar, where the incident occurred, has long been a hotspot for controversy. Locals whisper of frequent disturbances, with some claiming the rapper’s entourage often acts as if they’re untouchable. “He behaves like he owns the whole of Ogun State,” one resident told our correspondent, speaking on condition of anonymity. “This isn’t the first time he’s caused trouble, but this time, he’s gone too far.”
As the manhunt for Portable intensifies, questions swirl: Where is the elusive rapper hiding? Will he turn himself in, or will authorities catch up to him first? And what does this mean for his already tumultuous career? Fans are divided, with some defending their idol’s “street king” persona, while others slam him as a reckless troublemaker.
One thing is certain—the drama is far from over. Stay tuned as this gripping saga unfolds, and the battle between Portable and the Ogun State Government takes center stage. Will justice prevail, or will the "Wahala Musician" slip through the cracks once again? Only time will tell.
