Nigerian billionaire and tech entrepreneur B-Lord in a bold move to transform transportation in Awka, has introduced an innovative electric taxi service. During the test run of the new vehicles, he significantly reduced transport fares, charging just ₦300 for a trip from Ebenebe to Awka—far less than the usual ₦1,000 charged by tricycle (keke) operators.
B-Lord announced plans to deploy more electric taxis throughout the city, with a goal of reducing transportation costs by over 600%. He emphasized the profitability of his business model, noting that the electric cars only require periodic charging and do not need petrol, engine oil, or regular servicing.
To ensure the sustainability of the operations, B-Lord is establishing solar-powered charging stations at strategic locations across Awka. He also hinted at future expansion to other cities in Anambra State, highlighting his commitment to providing affordable and eco-friendly transportation solutions.
This initiative is expected to disrupt the transport sector, offering commuters a cost-effective alternative while promoting the adoption of clean energy in Nigeria.
