IBB Confirms MKO Abiola's Victory in June 12, 1993 Election in New Memoir

Former military head of state, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida in a landmark revelation,  has admitted that the late Chief Moshood Abiola won the annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election.

This admission comes from Babangida's newly launched autobiography, A Journey in Service. 

The former Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who reviewed the book, confirmed that Abiola, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, achieved both a majority vote and the required geographical spread.

Babangida described the annulment as the most challenging decision of his life, acknowledging Abiola's electoral success while expressing satisfaction that former President Muhammadu Buhari posthumously honored Abiola with the prestigious title of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR).
