Beverly Osu, the reality TV star and actress, has opened up about her experiences with love and relationships, emphasizing that she has never felt pressured to be in a relationship. In a recent interview with Saturday Beats, Osu shared her thoughts on navigating love, red flags, and self-growth. She admitted to ignoring red flags in the past but clarified that it was never due to external pressure. “Yes, I have ignored red flags so many times, even in platonic relationships, but never because of pressure. It was all because of love, hope, and grace,” she said. Osu believes that everyone she has loved needed her love at that moment, and she has no regrets about her choices.
Reflecting on the challenges of modern relationships, Osu highlighted the importance of self-awareness and setting boundaries. She noted that women, as natural nurturers, often encounter narcissistic partners, making it crucial to prioritize self-care and mental health. “Setting boundaries is an ongoing process that requires a certain level of self-awareness. Prioritising self and identifying your non-negotiables is very important in life for your well-being and mental health,” she advised. Osu also stressed the value of detachment, encouraging women to walk away from situations that no longer serve their emotional or mental needs.
Osu further emphasized that she is not under any pressure to love or be in a relationship. “I am never under pressure to love. I love to love, and it can’t be forced,” she stated. She acknowledged that the dating world has evolved, with people becoming more self-aware and having endless options. According to her, this shift has changed how people approach relationships, as needs, mindsets, and lifestyles continue to evolve.
Osu also urged people to avoid self-blame when relationships fail, noting that it takes two people to make or break a relationship. “Let’s not blame ourselves based on a love lost, be it a marriage or relationship. Relationships involve two people. It (crash) can’t be solely attributed to one person’s shortcomings. Be accountable but avoid self-blame,” she said. Her insights offer a refreshing perspective on love, self-growth, and the importance of prioritizing one’s well-being.
