In a shocking incident caught on CCTV, a group of women wearing hijabs are accused of stealing three laptops from a store in an Abuja shopping complex.
The video, which has since gone viral, was shared by Vincent Udo on his Facebook page, prompting a whirlwind of reactions and shares across social media.
On February 18, 2025, Udo posted the footage, detailing how the theft occurred while the store attendant was distracted by a man, believed to be an accomplice, who was asking about products. The video clearly shows one woman lifting the laptops while another swiftly conceals them under her hijab.
Udo's caption reads, "Please friends this man and his family stole 3 laptops from my brother just now. Please if you know him or you know how I can get him 100k, for you, share it to go round." He also included a contact number for anyone with information that might lead to the culprits' apprehension.
This incident has sparked a debate on social media about security measures in retail environments and the use of disguises in theft operations. Many users have praised the CCTV for capturing the crime, while others expressed sympathy for the store owner's loss.
The video has not only served as a warning to other shop owners but has also become a focal point for discussions on crime prevention and the ethics of sharing personal information online in pursuit of justice.
The Abuja police have yet to comment on the incident, but with the video's widespread circulation, there's hope that the culprits will soon be brought to justice. Meanwhile, the public is urged to be vigilant and report any leads that could help recover the stolen items or lead to the arrest of those involved.
