Fuji music legend Abass Akande, popularly known as Obesere, recently celebrated his 60th birthday, marking a significant milestone in his life and career. In an interview with Saturday Beats, the iconic artist, famous for hits like “Egungun Be Careful,” reflected on his journey, expressing gratitude and contentment. Obesere stated that he has no regrets about his life or career, attributing his success and experiences to divine will. “There is nothing I wished I had done differently. It’s all God’s plan, and I don’t have any regrets whatsoever,” he said.
When asked about his proudest achievements, Obesere highlighted several milestones, including raising and educating his children abroad, obtaining foreign citizenship, and acquiring properties and investments. He emphasized that his accomplishments are too numerous to list, crediting his success to God and his own determination. “There are lots of achievements that I can’t even mention. Is it the children that God blessed me with and helped me sponsor their education abroad? Or myself, that God gave another citizenship abroad? Or the houses and other investments that God has given me? There are lots of achievements. I can’t mention enough, really. All I can say is I thank my creator and my star,” he shared.
Obesere also revealed that he is working on a biography and documentary to document his inspiring life story. He believes his journey holds valuable lessons for the younger generation, which is why he named one of his properties “Wisdom Compound.” According to him, his life and career are filled with wisdom and experiences worth sharing. “My story is inspiring, and I feel the upcoming generation should learn some lessons from it. That’s why, on one of my houses, it is boldly written: Wisdom Compound. There is so much wisdom to learn from my life, journey, and career,” he explained.
