The Struggle is Real: Solomon Buchi speaks about the Nigerian Treatment of Young Talents

Solomon Buchi, a prominent Nigerian influencer and life coach, has expressed his frustration with the Nigerian system, describing it as "a hell for talents." His comments came in response to a statement by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding a suspect who allegedly shot one of its officers.

According to the EFCC, the suspect, a medical doctor, was caught with laptops and coding materials, leading to speculation that he was involved in internet fraud. Solomon Buchi took to social media to react to the statement, lamenting the fact that Nigeria has a tendency to stifle the dreams and talents of its citizens.

He cited the example of Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, wondering if the tech mogul would have been able to achieve his dreams if he were Nigerian. "If Mark Zuckerberg was Nigerian, EFCC would have raided his dorm where he started Facebook and accused him of internet fraud because he had laptops and was caught coding," Buchi wrote.

Buchi's statement highlights the challenges faced by young Nigerians who are trying to make a name for themselves in the tech industry. The country's authorities often view young people with laptops and coding skills as potential internet fraudsters, rather than seeing them as innovators and entrepreneurs.

This mindset has led to a culture of fear and mistrust, where young people are reluctant to showcase their talents or share their ideas, for fear of being labeled as fraudsters. Buchi's comments is a call to action, urging the Nigerian authorities to rethink their approach and create an environment that encourages innovation and creativity.
