A Nigerian teacher has taken to social media to voice their frustration over a recent job offer. In their post, they explained that the role required them to teach Mathematics to SS1 and JS2 students, Physics to SS1 and SS2 students, and manage the computer lab for all students from JS1 to SS3.
Adding to the demanding responsibilities, the job also stipulated a strict dress code: corporate attire from Monday to Thursday, and traditional native wear on Fridays.
Despite the extensive workload and the detailed dress code requirements, the salary offered was a mere N35,000. The teacher expressed their disbelief and dissatisfaction, highlighting the stark imbalance between the job's demands and the compensation.
Their heartfelt message has resonated with many, sparking a conversation about the value of educators and fair compensation within the teaching profession.
You want me to teach Mathematics to SS1 and JS2 students, teach Physics to SS1 and SS2 students, and handle the computer lab for JS1 to SS3.

I must wear corporate from Monday to Thursday and wear native on Friday.
And they offered a whooping N35,000 as salary. 😪
