Losing My First Child Was the Darkest Phase of My Life - Dele Odule

Veteran Nollywood actor, Dele Odule, has revealed a heart-wrenching experience that has stayed with him throughout his life. In a recent interview with his colleague, Kunle Afod, the renowned Yoruba actor shared that the saddest moment of his life which was the loss of his first child.

Recalling the painful experience, Odule explained that the circumstances surrounding the child's birth made the tragic news even harder to bear. As a father, he had been filled with joy and anticipation at the arrival of his firstborn, only to have his world shattered by the unexpected loss.

The 63-year-old actor, known for his wealth of experience and wisdom in the film industry, revealed that he struggled to come to terms with the loss. However, in the face of such unimaginable tragedy, he found solace in his faith. He accepted the incident as the will of God, acknowledging that some things are beyond human control.

Dele Odule's words were laced with a sense of resignation and acceptance, as he reflected on the experience. He prayed never to face such a tragedy again, a sentiment that echoed the vulnerability and humanity that lies beneath his tough exterior as a veteran actor.

The Nollywood legend had this to say during his interview: 

"The saddest moment of my life was when I was called that my first child died. It was very hard on meIt was hard because of the situation faced during the child’s birth, but no one can question God’s authority. It was so bad that I don’t pray for it anymore."
