Nollywood star Funke Akindele has shut down a social media user who questioned her choice to wear a ring on her “marriage finger” despite her divorced status.
The critique came from @OriretanHonour on X, who advised the actress to remove the ring, claiming it could deter potential suitors. “Funke, it’s unwise to still wear a ring on your marriage finger knowing you’re divorced. Even worse, it might chase away your future husband. Little things count now that you’re still famous, hot, and rich. Mind your public acts. Remove the ring now. You need a man in your life ASAP. Act fast. Be wise,” the user wrote.
Unbothered, Funke fired back with a straightforward response: “I need money! That’s the koko.”
The actress and producer, who has been married and divorced twice, has consistently been vocal about prioritizing her career and personal happiness over societal expectations. Her first marriage to Mr. Oloyede ended in 2013 after just over a year, while her second marriage to JJC Skillz, with whom she shares twins, ended in 2022.
In a past interview with Wazobia FM, Funke emphasized that her divorces do not define her, stating, “Being divorced twice does not make me a failure.”
With her sharp response, Funke has once again proven she’s focused on what truly matters—securing the bag and living life on her own terms.
